Slater Brothers Entertainment 10th Annual HIFF Announced! Schedule/Tickets/Passes Released!

Hamilton, NY​- Slater Brother Entertainment has set the dates for SBE’s 10th Annual Hamilton (New York) International Film Festival. The Festival is rated a “Top 100 Best Reviewed Festival” by Filmfreeway, the world’s largest film submission platform representing over 6000 Festivals across the globe. It will run from July 23rd to July 29th in Hamilton, New York.

The Brothers have elected to continue with the seven day format. Dozens of international filmmakers and industry leaders are expected to be visiting the Madison County village throughout the week. Festival Founder, Grant Slater noted, “We are really excited about our 10th Anniversary. We are one of the few seven day festivals and we seem to be thriving in Central New York. Madison County, the Village of Hamilton and Colgate University have been so supportive of the Festival and so welcoming to the filmmakers that come from across the globe to share their films with our community.”

Monday July 23rd and Tuesday July 24th, there will be a series of international short films screened at the Colgate Inn’s Rathskeller Tavern. These are ​free events ​and open to the public. Screenings will start at 7:00 PM. Todd Slater stressed, “The Colgate Inn has great food, a super selection of wines and a revolving list of craft beers so the Dinner and a Movie concept was something that the Inn suggested and it has worked out so well that we are happy to set-up free screenings at the Rathskeller.” Grant Slater Added, “ It is really nice to see not only all the filmmakers but the visiting film fans that come to the village during the week of the festival. There is a certain energy in town during the festival and July is such a super time to experience Hamilton and Madison county.”

On Wednesday July 25th​ there will be a series of international short films screened at the Hamilton Movie Theater. Festival Founder, Grant Slater notes, “Wednesday night will really have something for everyone. It will be a mix of several genres and feature a strong list of shorts.” It will be a 7:00 PM screening.

On Thursday July 26th, Slater Brothers Entertainment and the Hamilton Theater will continue their annual benefit screening for Hamilton Central School, with 100% of the ticket sales donated to the local school. This year, The Samuel Project a ​ feature film starring Hal Linden​ ​(B​arn​ey Miller, Wil​l and Grace) and​ Ryan Ochoa ​(A Christmas Carol, Mars needs Moms). Producer, Steve Weinberger a​nd Writer/Director, Scott Fusco ​(Saving Private Ryan, My Uncle Raphael) will be in attendance to present their film. It will be a 7:00 PM screening.

On Friday, July 27th, the Festival will feature a series of short films from across the USA, Canada and the United Kingdom. Several filmmakers will be in attendance including Quebec Filmmaker, Guillaume Venne with his film, Dreaming of My Life, United Kingdom​ Filmmaker, Paul Rodriguez with ​Curse Words and NYC Filmmaker Rick Ha​miltonwithhisawardwinningfilm,​SeeingGlory. Theni​ghtwillalsoincludetheshortfilm​DirtyOldMan,afilm produced and directed by CNY resident and SUNY Cortland Video instructor Sam Avory. Screening will begin at 8:15 PM.

Saturday Afternoon is going to filled with film industry activities. There will be a Filmmakers Panel Discussion at the Colgate Bookstore at noon that is free and open to the public. The panel discussion will be followed by a 1:30 PM screening of a series of films, including Central New York Filmakers Marc and Anna Casadei’s Award winning film, Legacy​. The afternoon will also feature Leon and Preston ​ Robinson’s comedy film,​ Make America Black Again. Both groups will be in attendance to present their films. Leon is best known for his starring role in the blockbuster comedy feature, ​Cool Runnings.

On Saturday Night, The Hamilton Movie Theater will be crowded with both local and international filmmakers. French Filmmaker, Gaz​ anfer Biricik will be in attendance to present his film, ​GAB. The night will also showcase Paul Rodriguez’s comedy Perfect Baby (UK). The London based filmmaker will be in attendance. Saturday night will also feature ​Writer’s Block, a film by Syracuse based and Award winning filmmaker, Alex Mendez Giner. Screening will begin at 7:00 PM.

The Festival concludes on Sunday with a series of films, including Anita Gurnani’s documentary film, ​The Art of Shantiniketan Master in the Footsteps of Tagore (India) and Ismail Elmokadem’s documentary film, ​Dangerous Crossings-the Making of a Campaign (Monaco). Screenings will start at 12:00 PM.

Tickets prices are $8.00 for individual Screenings and $35.00 for a Festival Pass which is accepted for all six paid screenings. Tickets can be purchased at The Hamilton Movie Theater or online at www.hamiltontheater.net.
